Ready To try something new?

Take part in one of our learn to row courses.

Designed specifically to let you experience rowing for the first time. We will take you through the basics over several weeks, helping you to learn a new skill and hopefully you will find a new hobby! After you have completed the course you can join one of our squads. We run two courses: one for school aged people, and one for adults.

Recently moved to Glasgow. Use to row at school or university. Or maybe you returning to the sport after a break. Whatever the reason we love welcoming new (and returning) members. We have several squads – spanning various age groups and ability levels – and you have the option to do a taster session with the squad that you would like to join.

Clydesdale ARC is a rowing club for everyone. We are a thriving club of over 100 members of all ages and abilities.

With a strong focus on equality, diversity and inclusion. Our mission is to make all the fun of rowing as accessible and inclusive as possible, and to build the river community.

We aim to provide a warm and welcoming environment in which rowing can be enjoyed to the fullest, regardless of level of ability. We provide support to all members and offer a range of options for involvement through our various squads, from casual participation through to opportunities to train with professional coaches to the highest level. We run introductory programmes for novice rowers so they can experience rowing for the first time and provide coaching for all our training squads.

The club adopts a person-centred approach, which aims to help break down structural barriers to participation and to open up access to all of the physical and mental health benefits of rowing, competitively and non-competitively. No one should feel like rowing is not ‘for’ them.

We think of ourselves as both for and of the local and river communities, building links and partnerships within those communities in order to build up a network of people invested in positive social change, contribute positively towards society, and to provide opportunities for individuals to empower themselves.
