Umpiring

Clydesdale currently has four Umpires, of which two will retire from duty in the coming year.  As a club that runs several events, we should be better represented with more Umpires.  Anyone interested in finding out more about becoming an Umpire should contact Andrew McConnell. Becoming an Umpire should not be about 'giving something back', it is in fact an enjoyable activity in itself.  Andrew qualified a few years ago and has found it to be a particularly sociable part of rowing.  It's flexible and permits you to race as often as you like, you get to meet pretty much everyone in Scottish Rowing.  Qualifying consists of a written test and some short practical scenarios which are all done in one day.  It’s a skoosh and definitely recommended!
